The Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez regions are unique so many ways, unfortunately is has one unique aspect to it that works against affordable decomposed granite, there are no decomposed granite quarries in Ventura or Santa Barbara Counties. All the DG material used in Montecito, SB, Santa Ynez and other areas has to be hauled in for from other regions.
Gold, tan and light brown decomposed granite as well as grey, white, blue and green crushed stone fines are the primary regionally produced material options driveway, pathway and patio surfaces in Santa Barbara County. More expensive premium materials from Arizona, Nevada and Mexico can be used to create unique personal signature installations.

There are so many companies selling products that they call "Decomposed Granite" that are in fact not decomposed granite at all that it has bastardized the name Decomposed Granite.
