Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how shipping, local delivery, freight delivery, and pickup work for orders placed through Earth Stone Rock.

Earth Stone Rock sells natural stone, gravel, decomposed granite, boulders, flagstone, pavers, mulch, soil, sand, bocce court materials, and other landscape materials. Because many of our products are heavy, bulky, natural, and location-dependent, shipping and delivery charges are based on the product weight, delivery distance, delivery location, and available service method.

1. Shipping, Delivery, and Pickup Options

Depending on the product, quantity, weight, and delivery location, Earth Stone Rock may offer one or more of the following options:

  • Local pickup

  • Local delivery

  • Bulk material delivery

  • Freight delivery

  • Custom delivery quote

For eligible online orders, available shipping or delivery options and costs are shown at checkout before payment is completed.

Some products, large quantities, oversized materials, freight shipments, remote delivery locations, commercial orders, or special-order items may require a custom quote before the order can be finalized.

2. How Delivery Charges Are Calculated

Delivery charges are calculated using:

  • Delivery distance in miles

  • Total order weight in pounds

  • Product type

  • Delivery ZIP code

  • Yard or supplier location

  • Truck, freight, or carrier availability

Distance is measured from the applicable Earth Stone Rock yard, supplier yard, or fulfillment location to the customer’s delivery address.

Weight is calculated based on the total product weight of the order.

The delivery charge shown at checkout applies only to eligible orders that can be delivered using the available checkout delivery method.

3. Local Delivery Rate Table

The following delivery rates apply to eligible orders within 300 miles and up to 16,000 pounds.

These charges are delivery charges only. Product price, taxes, and any clearly displayed additional checkout charges are calculated separately.

4. Orders Over 300 Miles or Over 16,000 Pounds

Orders over 300 miles or over 16,000 pounds may require a custom delivery or freight quote.

If your order is outside the delivery rate table, Earth Stone Rock may contact you to confirm delivery options, freight cost, pickup options, or alternate fulfillment options before the order is finalized.

If delivery cannot be completed to your location, we may cancel the order and refund any amount already paid.

5. Delivery Availability

Delivery availability is not guaranteed for every product or every location.

Some products may only be available from specific yards, suppliers, or regions. Some products may be available for pickup but not delivery. Some products may require freight delivery or a custom quote.

If an item cannot be delivered to your address using the checkout delivery method, our team may contact you to discuss pickup, a different delivery option, an alternate product, a freight quote, or cancellation.

6. Order Processing Time

Processing time depends on product type, order size, availability, and delivery method.

Eligible in-stock orders are usually processed within 1–3 business days.

Local delivery, bulk delivery, freight delivery, supplier-coordinated orders, and quote-based orders may require additional time for inventory confirmation, scheduling, loading, carrier coordination, and delivery planning.

Orders are processed during normal business days, excluding holidays.

7. Delivery Time Estimates

Delivery times are estimates and may vary based on product availability, delivery distance, yard schedule, supplier schedule, truck availability, carrier availability, weather, traffic, and site access.

Earth Stone Rock will make reasonable efforts to meet confirmed delivery schedules, but delivery dates and times are not guaranteed unless specifically confirmed in writing.

8. Local Pickup

Some products may be available for local pickup.

Pickup availability must be confirmed before arrival. Customers should wait for pickup confirmation before visiting a yard or supplier location.

Customers are responsible for bringing a suitable vehicle, trailer, tie-downs, equipment, and any required help for safe transport unless otherwise confirmed by Earth Stone Rock.

Earth Stone Rock may refuse loading if the vehicle, trailer, or pickup method appears unsafe or unsuitable for the material.

9. Customer Responsibility for Delivery Access

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and making sure the delivery location is accessible and safe.

Customers should provide:

  • Full delivery address

  • Contact name and phone number

  • Gate codes or access instructions

  • Preferred drop location

  • Road or driveway restrictions

  • Low wires, narrow roads, steep driveways, soft ground, or access issues

  • Unloading requirements, if applicable

Delivery drivers may refuse delivery or unloading if the site is unsafe, inaccessible, restricted, or unsuitable for the delivery vehicle.

Earth Stone Rock is not responsible for delays, failed delivery, redelivery fees, extra carrier fees, or product placement issues caused by incorrect information, unsafe access, restricted roads, locked gates, low wires, blocked driveways, soft ground, steep grades, or unavailable unloading equipment.

10. Freight Delivery and Bulk Orders

Some products may require freight delivery, bulk delivery, or a custom quote.

Freight and bulk delivery costs may depend on weight, pallet count, truck type, distance, carrier availability, unloading requirements, and delivery site conditions.

Some freight deliveries may require the customer to provide unloading equipment, such as a forklift, skid steer, loader, or other suitable equipment. If unloading equipment is required, this will be discussed before the order is finalized.

If the customer cannot receive or unload a freight delivery as scheduled, additional carrier fees, redelivery fees, storage fees, or cancellation fees may apply.

11. Incorrect Address or Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping and delivery information.

If the wrong address, incomplete address, incorrect ZIP code, missing contact information, or wrong delivery instructions are provided, the order may be delayed, returned, cancelled, or subject to additional fees.

If you notice an address or delivery mistake after placing an order, contact sales@earthstonerock.com immediately.

12. Tracking Information

Tracking information may be available for parcel shipments and some freight shipments.

Tracking may not be available for every local delivery, bulk material delivery, pickup order, or supplier-coordinated delivery.

When tracking is available, it may be sent by email or provided by the carrier.

13. Delivery Delays

Delivery delays may happen because of weather, traffic, carrier delays, supplier delays, inventory changes, high order volume, equipment issues, road restrictions, site access problems, or events outside our control.

If a delivery delay affects your order, Earth Stone Rock will make reasonable efforts to contact you and provide an update.

14. Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Deliveries

Customers should inspect all products at delivery or pickup whenever possible.

If an order appears damaged, incomplete, incorrect, or materially different from the confirmed order, contact Earth Stone Rock as soon as possible at sales@earthstonerock.com.

Please include:

  • Order number

  • Customer name

  • Delivery address

  • Product name

  • Photos of the product and delivery condition

  • A short explanation of the issue

For delivered bulk materials, natural stone, gravel, decomposed granite, boulders, mulch, soil, and similar products, customers should report issues before the material is installed, spread, mixed, moved, or used.

Once materials are installed, spread, mixed, moved, or used, return or refund options may be limited.

15. Natural Material Variation

Many Earth Stone Rock products are natural materials. Color, texture, size, shape, moisture level, and appearance may vary by quarry source, batch, lighting, screen settings, weather, and natural conditions.

Reasonable variation in natural materials is normal and is not considered shipping damage or delivery error.

16. Order Changes and Cancellations

If you need to change or cancel an order, contact sales@earthstonerock.com as soon as possible.

Orders may not be changeable or cancellable after materials have been loaded, dispatched, delivered, specially ordered, custom prepared, scheduled with a supplier, or scheduled with a freight carrier.

Approved cancellations and refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy.

17. Returns Related to Shipping or Delivery

Returns and refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy.

Some products may not be eligible for return, including bulk materials, delivered materials, installed materials, used materials, custom orders, special orders, freight orders, and products that cannot be safely or practically returned.

Customers may be responsible for return shipping, return freight, pickup, redelivery, or restocking fees unless the issue was caused by an Earth Stone Rock error and the return is approved.
