Mojave Black Cherry is a mixture of rhyolite rock and dolostone in cream, dark red, burgundy, and black colors with considerable pink seams within the rock. Black Cherry is quarried in the Mojave Desert and is very limited in supply. Those who are able to get and use these boulders will have a signature look in the landscape, setting their yards apart from other landscapes.
This is not the same as the Black Cherrystone material sold in Arizona and Mid-West, which are two different rock materials.
Always Know What You Are Paying For
In most cases we charge by the ton and drivers often have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request. Materials sold by the yard tend to have very in-accurate amounts in the trucks. The actual amounts loaded depend the size of the loader bucket, how well the material was scooped up and who was supervising the loading of the truck. Scale House totals don't lie, so why take a chance on losing money and time with how many square feet, scoops, skips and or dumps were made in loading the truck?
Architects, public agencies, contractors and owner-builders requiring a competitive bid for the materials and transport costs should E-mail us with material specifications, amount and date needed and buyers contact information. For boulder and heavy rock hauling we typically employ trucks with carrying capacities ranging from 10 to 25 tons.
Loads of decorative boulders, rip rap and rock ruble are typically moved with;
End-dumps from 10 to 25 tons - loose bulk loaded material or limited amounts of specimen material
Super-10's from 10 to 17 tons - loose bulk loaded material or limited amounts of specimen material
Flatbeds from 1 to 24 tons - palletized specimen boulders, pallet cribs with rock ruble or small boulders and pallet wire baskets with ruble. Flatbed loads can also handle mixed material orders with supersacks of gravel, crushed rock, river and beach pebbles, road base, decomposed granite, flagstone and other materials.

Product Samples
California Building Material Supply believes that for most consumers and end users of these landscaping or building material products the best location to view most of these products is at the actual site where they are going be used. This is particularly true for existing homes and commercial locations that are being renovated or re-landscaped. Samples of most materials can be delivered and evaluated by you on site for you to make the most informed choice possible. Materials are sold per the specification of the stone type, product brand and basic sizes.
Samples are shipped via United State Postal Service, Priority Mail. We can get about 16 pounds of material into a large flat rate box. Samples are sent with an invoice on Net 10 Day Terms. When ordering your samples use the Purchase Order function at checkout and enter SAMPLES. This will allow you to make a purchase without having to pay for the samples at that time.

Product Specifications and Uses
Boulders, Stones, Cobble and Rip Rap are effective in creating scale, color and texture contrast in open landscapes, dry and wet creek features, waterfalls, ponds. Boulders, Stones, Cobble and Rip Rap are also very effective at steering foot traffic away from primary plantings to prevent damage to plants and worn out sections of the landscape.
