Gro-Rooftop Garden Soil
Custom blended growing media products to meet the needs of growing top end gardens on raised structures and roof tops without the weight of normal top soil.
Rooftop gardens can be installed on a wide range of buildings, from industrial facilities to private residences. They can be as simple as a two-inch covering of hardy groundcover or as complex as a fully accessible park complete with trees. The green roof top reduces air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by lowering air conditioning demand. Vegetation can also remove air pollutants and GHG emissions through dry deposition and carbon sequestration and storage. It leads to improved human health and comfort.
Rooftop gardens, also known as green roofs, are vegetative green layer grown on a rooftop of buildings providing greenery, useful products, shade, acoustic benefits as well as remove heat from the air through evapo-transpiration, reducing temperatures of the roof surface and the surrounding air. On hot and humid summer days, the surface temperature of a rooftop garden can be cooler than the air temperature, whereas the surface of a conventional rooftop can be up to 50°C warmer.
